Promote a member
Switchover promotes a healthy secondary to primary. DNS endpoints stay the same; routing updates behind them.
Switchover and failover

| Failover | Force to primary | Emergency promotion when the primary is unavailable |
To promote a member
- Confirm the cluster and both members are Ready.
- On the secondary row, open the actions menu and choose Promote to primary.
- Confirm the dialog.
- Wait until both members are Ready and roles have swapped.
After switchover
- Write and read through the read/write domain
- Read through the read-only domain (allow brief replication lag)
