Replicas and failover

Add replicas for read scaling and promote a replica to primary when you need a planned role change.

To add a replica

1. Confirm cache Status is Ready.
2. Choose Add replica.
3. Wait until the new member row shows Ready.

To promote a replica

1. Confirm the primary and replica are Ready.
2. On the replica row, choose Promote to primary.
3. Wait until roles swap and both members are Ready.

To delete a replica

1. On the replica row, choose Delete replica.
2. Confirm and wait until the member is removed.
